How selling privately works
The same exposure as an agent-listed home, while you stay in charge of the sale.
Step 1
Choose your package
Pick Starter, Complete or Premium. Each is a one-off payment with no commission, and your listing stays up until your property sells.
Step 2
Tell us about your property
Our guided form covers the address, features, price and a description. Your progress saves as you go, and we email you a link to continue later.
Step 3
Upload your photos
Add photos straight from your phone or computer. We resize them, strip location data and arrange them in the order you choose. Premium includes a professional photographer.
Step 4
Pay and submit
Pay securely by card. Our team reviews your listing, usually within a day, and checks the details are complete and accurate.
Step 5
We publish to the portals
Your listing goes live on SellPrivate.com.au and is sent to realestate.com.au, Domain and partner portals. You can watch the status in your dashboard.
Step 6
Buyers contact you
Enquiries come straight to your inbox; reply directly. You run the inspections and keep a record of interested buyers.
Step 7
Negotiate and sell
Take offers in writing and work with your conveyancer on the contract. When you accept an offer, mark your listing under offer, then sold.
What you'll need
- The property address and key details (bedrooms, bathrooms, parking, land size)
- Your asking price, or the price range you have in mind
- A few paragraphs describing the home and the neighbourhood
- Photos: bright, landscape, at least 8 is ideal
- A conveyancer or solicitor to prepare the contract or disclosure documents for your state
What we do
- Check every listing before it goes live
- Publish to the portals included in your package and keep them in sync when you make changes
- Send buyer enquiries to you without showing your email address
- Deliver your For Sale sign, letterbox cards or photography (depending on package)
- Take your listing down from the portals when you mark it sold or withdrawn
Start your listing
It takes about 15 minutes, and you can save and come back.
